Gratitude helps me focus on the good things in life, appreciate what I have, and build stronger social connections. It also reduces stress, improves my self-esteem, increases my resilience in difficult times, and contributes to greater satisfaction and happiness all over.

AI Superpowers by Kai-Fu Lee
It was recommended by a friend. The book argues that China is well-positioned to become the next tech innovator, particularly in the field of artificial intelligence. Lee believes that China’s abundance of data and government support make it a powerful contender despite the United States’ current lead. Lee also challenges the notion that Chinese entrepreneurs lack originality, arguing that they are actually more innovative than their Western counterparts, who have become more risk-averse since the 2008 financial crisis. However, Lee also acknowledges the potential negative impacts of AI on society, particularly in the areas of weapon technology and unethical usage by governments and companies.
What product or service do you wish existed?
An education platform that would be inclusive and agnostic of geography or socio-economic status, providing people the possibility to choose to pursue their passion, change their destiny, and break the cycle of poverty, while helping people develop critical thinking skills. An educated and informed population is essential to counteracting the biggest threats civilization faces.
What product are you obsessively using right now?
ChatGPT. By providing quick access to information, generating diverse perspectives, fostering creativity, reducing cognitive biases, saving time, and improving communication, ChatGPT can significantly augment human intelligence and productivity.
What are you bullish on?
Artificial intelligence. This wide range of applications increases the potential for AI to generate significant economic value and improve lives.
What are you bearish on?
The metaverse, even though it’s a rapidly growing area with potential for significant impact. I believe there is a lot of overhype and building a fully functional metaverse requires overcoming numerous technical challenges, such as latency, bandwidth, and seamless integration between platforms. I think it might cause a digital divide, issues related to the addictive nature of virtual worlds, impact mental health, and lead to younger generations losing perspective between the real world and a virtual one.
