How to Know If You’ve Got Product-Market Fit?
Here are the key signs of true product-market fit:
- Watch user behavior: Look for visible excitement (“Where have you been all my life?”), strong retention curves and users who keep coming back even when your product is broken.
- Measure real commitment: Get people to pay before launch, survey if they’d be “very disappointed” without your product (aim for >40%) and watch for organic growth from word of mouth.
- Check growth efficiency: Your sales should be efficient (costs less to acquire users than they’re worth) and organic (>50% of new users come directly). If you’re pushing too hard to grow, you haven’t found fit.
